AI Love Dolls: Warm to the Touch, Flirty by Design – Part 2: A Global Village
At DollsM’s factory, rows of silicone bodies hang in wait, prepped for international shipping. Nearby, shelves display fully assembled heads—each meticulously painted, implanted with hair, and ready to awaken.
The scene feels like something out of sci-fi: lifelike figures suspended in silence. Some dolls have soft tummies with natural folds of skin, others sport goosebump-textured arms or freckled chests. Sunspots dot their necks, and even their belly buttons vary in shape—no two are alike.
A Mirror of Human Desires
Every physical detail reflects a customer’s hidden longing. One requested a C-section scar on their doll’s abdomen. Post-pandemic, another asked for a vaccine injection mark on the arm.
DollsM, the company behind these creations, envisions its products as a "global village"—a diverse lineup spanning races, skin tones, and aesthetics to fulfill every fantasy.
The "Body Bank" Archive
To achieve this, the team built a "body material bank." Over the past five years, they’ve recruited 400+ models to visit the factory, capturing every detail of their anatomy through silicone molds. Designers then blend these real-life elements into new designs.
Recent years saw edgy subculture-inspired dolls join the roster:
- A gothic girl, gaunt as a paper cutout, with smudged eyeliner and ripped fishnets.
- A hip-hop-loving fitness model, her arms sculpted with muscle definition.
The art director, a ‘95-born graduate of Russia’s Repin Art Academy, left traditional sculpture for this industry. "The skills translate perfectly," she says.
Testing the AI Fantasy Engine
In the showroom, a ‘90s-born engineer runs English-language AI tests. Through a proprietary app, users select from 29 "fantasy scenarios" to shape conversations—options range from "campus crush" and "dominant big sister" to "bully boss" and "divorced neighbor."
"We want our dolls to have souls," the team insists.
